In my opinion it will be impossible to sell without first obtaining a GIA gem diamond certificate to prove that it's natural and the quality as per the 4 C's.
Happy to review values once a GIA certificate is obtained
To be honest I am a gemmologist/expert witness & diamond broker (owner of Mayfair Diamonds Ltd London) and this is the route I would recommend if I was asked to sell it on behalf of a client. Of course I could sell it for you in New York immediately after GIA certification, which I could also arrange and would also take about 5 days.
A GIA gem diamond certificate is without question the best in the world.
Any chance you could tell me about the provenance?
Let me know what you think
Jonty
Or you could as previously stated sell at auction at either Sotheby's or Christies
Yes I could arrange GIA certification and a public auction or private sale via Christies or Sotheby's New York.
I used to work at Sotheby's Jewellery Dept for 15 years in London Amsterdam & Hong Kong. I have worked as a Jewellery & Diamond Expert & Diamond Broker since January 2000.
Any provenance details available?
Thank you.

I have almost completed setting up GIA Lab Account so I can have Diamond Reports made. I'll trying to find you provenance information too. Thank you for your Professional; expert, and thorough Appraisals !

Kym
Sorry for the text errors
I'll try to find you the provenance information.
Thank you.
Hi Kym,
Many thanks for letting me know.
GIA are a 1st class organisation and I'm sure they will guide you through the procedure and the fees. I look forward to being of further service in due course.
Kindest regards

Hi Jonty ,
Thank you very much for your new ecellent Appraisals . Mearto is an such excellent Company. My GIA Account is operational , but I must postpone optaining my Large Diamond
Appraisals because the cost is $5,000. or more for a 100 Caret Diamond a GIA Report !
I'll be submitting more Diamonds though , and smaller ones too.
Thank you for your understanding
Sincerely ,
Kym
Yes GIA fees are expensive I'm afraid. A solution to the high fees would be to obtain free valuations from Sotheby's or Christies who are completely trustworthy and will probably some diagnostic in-house equipment.
Do please send more diamond valuations
Hi Jonty ,
Thank you so much for all your wonderful appraisals , and evaluations. I think to Sell the Diamonds , I would like to start with Sotheby's or Christie's, and later work with GIA. I appreciate
your Professional opinion regarding the best procedure to follow. Thanks again .
Sincerely,
Kym
Most welcome Kym anytime - the provenance would be interesting to know
Thank you very much for your email, and the Appraisal , I appreciate it very much.
May I ask , are Reports from GIA the only Gem Evaluations that you accept ?
Thank you again.
