Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry and for the additional photos.
It is a lovely teddybear. Such vintage soft toys are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The teddy bear has a lovely brown curly fur, the face of the bear is very sweet and it has a visible hump on the back. Due to the fairly short limbs I would date the teddybear to be from the 1930s-1940s. The filling may be sawdust however it is hard to tell from the photos. As for the manufacturer it is very hard to determine without any tags, labels or other signs showing the teddy bears origin. Teddy bears were very popular worldwide from 1880s and still are. In particular England and Germany were large producers of soft toys. My guess is that your teddybear is English.
Your teddy bear appears to be in good condition which is important for the price.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online soft toys auction, where I believe the teddybear has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the teddybear. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
Yes, there is a hump. I have added a few more pix. There are no tags or markings of any kind. Unlike the other bears no attempt at claws has been made..... the nose has a peculiar slant. Thank you for helping..... Bpb
