This is a multi strand glass(?) beaded necklace in black/white. The best part though, is the hidden box clasp in the shape of two lions’ heads holding a ring between them with their detailed teeth. Each lion has ruby eyes and their teeth can move along the ring. The piece is marked 14k 585. The total length of the clasp is about 1.5”. Width is just over one half inch.
I am a reseller of jewelry and resource mainly through shopgoodwill.com. This piece was tangled among a ‘crafters’ lot’ that I bought in April this year (2021).
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a lovely necklace with a gold clasp in the shape of two lions heads holding a ring. It is a very fashionable clasp that would attract the attention of both collectors and dealers if it came up for auction. Based on your description the clasp is made of 14 kt gold. The marks are hard to see on the photos and I cannot see if there is a makers name too. The gold clasp is the most valuable when appraising this necklace. It was probably made in the late 1900s or perhaps around 2000. It has the fashionhouse look to it and is very trendy today.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online jewellery auction, where I believe the clasp and necklace has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the beautiful and very charming clasp and necklace. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
