A kilim or kelim is a flat tapestry-woven carpet or rug traditionally produced in countries of the former Ottoman Empire, which would include Iran, Azerbaijan and and other Turkic countries of Central Asia. The rug in your possession seems to be in good condition, made from self-dyed wool, woven in the slitweave technique.
