Dear Bob,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a flintstone lock blunderbuss gun made in the late 18th century. The lock itself was made by gunsmith John Twigg who worked in Piccadilly in London between 1760-1790. The handle is decorated with a mother of pearl inlay which is typical for India and especially Goa. Additionally, this gun has the hallmark of the East India Company and is dated 1785.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 1.000 to 2.000 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
