With blue eyes in a painted face, leather body, back of the head impressed "1".
Wearing a heavily tailored brown silk overcoat and skirts with leather hands, leather purse, shoes, hat, and opera glasses. Extra hat, gloves, leather boots, and luggage tag in leather suitcase. Second suitcase with a clock/brooch on a chain.

CONDITION: This doll appears to be in generally very good but fragile condition commensurate with age and use.

Thanks, Clark, for the additional photos and information about the body. The quality of this doll is very good; there were a few makers - in both France and Germany - making dolls of this quality in the late 19th Century. If it were stamped with the maker's name it would be worth a bit more but to give you some perspective, bisque-head/leather-bodied dolls of this size and vintage but of lesser quality rarely bring more than $100-150 at auction. It's quite a nice doll.
