This rifle was acquired from the ancient fortress of Bala Hissar, in Kabul, Afghanistan in 2010. It appears to be a standard Martini, complete, in untouched condition.
To my knowledge it has never been exhibited before. I inherited it from my father.
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry, and I apologize for the delay. This Enfield Martini-Henry rifle is in overall good condition. All of the parts appear to be intact, and in good condition, however, there is some active rust forming around some of the moving pieces and in the pitting on the barrel. All of the markings on the metal and stock are still legible. The provenance may add some value to the piece, especially if there is any documentation. Given the condition of this piece, and completed auctions of similar items, a fair market estimation is 1,200-1,300 dollars. Please reach out with any questions.
