18th century New Cherry Tavern Table
Tavern Table, New England, Circa 1760-1770. The table has a cherry base, with scrubbed bread Board white pine top. The original red wash remains on much of the base. Two feet have original pads intact, one foot has a restored pad (replacing about 50% of the pad), and one is unrestored, missing part of the pad foot. The table is 27" high, 24.25 " deep and 40.5 " wide. The color/patina of both the base and top is excellent. There are a few small patch repairs on the top, but as expected considering wear and tear of such a heavily used utilitarian piece. The proportions are very good, usually found on more sophisticated furniture forms. Condition overall is very good.
Purchased from a private collector. I know nothing about its past other than that.

Thank you for your request. This is a table probably made in New England in the second half of the 18th century. The table is simply constructed and was made for a practical use. The wooden parts are worked in solid wood, which are connected with wooden screw anchors.
An estimation would be between 200 to 600 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
