This is a 1916 9mm German Luger. All serial numbers match (7700 or 00). It's in used condition. It has been in my family for as long as I can remember....50 years+. We have never fired it, but I don't know if anyone else ever has. Family doesn't remember when it came into our possession, but it would have been 1960s or sooner.
This was my father's pistol, and was always in his possession as far as I can remember. He passed away earlier this year, and I inherited it. My family has never shot the pistol - at least not in the last 50 years. Unsure where it came from or if it saw action in WWI or other conflicts, but it seems used.
Dear Vic,
Thank you for the additional images/ information and your patience. The presented object appears to be a German M P. 08 9 mm Luger pistol produced by the Deutschen Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken AG (DWM). The serial number dates this piece into the year 1916.
This piece is in medium condition.
A fair market estimation would be between 800 to 1.500 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
Hej Georg - I added several more photos of the markings on the 1916 luger. I hope this helps you better identify and value the piece.
