This is an antique, 1900 to early 20th century drop leaf table with block turned wood legs. Technically, a gate leg table, would have two to four additional matching turned wood legs that swing out when the leaves are up. The top is done is a turtle back form and this does appear to have been re-varnished with heavy layer of it. Drop leaf tables are currently slumped and do not sell for what they used to sell for a few decades ago. The market was further impacted by the Recession.
