Hi Daryl,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
I *think* this is a full size cello - the most useful dimension is the length of the body, which at full size is about 30 inches (there can be some variation among maker).
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage full sized cello
American or European, early/mid 20th Century
With spruce front (should be flamed maple on the back), ebonized fingerboard, tuning pegs and frog. Apparently not labeled.
49 inches overall, width 17 inches, depth 5 inches
CONDITION: appears to be in generally good condition for age; musicality not warranted
PROVENANCE: ex collection Neil Eberhardt
$500-700*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you again for using Mearto.
Thanks, Daryl, you're all set.
could not find a label - is there any other way of appraising this instrument?
