Dear Michael,
Thank you for your help and patience.
The presented object appears to be a flintlock pistol with a total length of around 15 inches. This representative pistol is distinguished because of the maple wood stock and the chiseled and well-made metal fittings. Such curly maple stocks were common especially in the region of North America which could also explain why this piece has not producer marks or proof marks. But maple stocks were also used in the European countries. This pistol was made in the middle of the 18th century.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 250 to 500 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
i could not find any hallmarks. only the design engraved on the various parts. btw, there is some faint inscription on the top of the barrel but it looks link ornamental engravings.
