Hello Silvia,
Thank you very much for submitting your item for an appraisal and for your patience.
The presented object appears to be a "wavy frame" giclée print with acrylic embellishments attributed to Steve Barton, an American artist known for his bright, beach-y scenes. Based on the images provided, the painting is in good condition. It measures 30 x 40 inches and is in the artist's characteristic wavy wooden frame.
There is some demand for this artist's work on the secondary market and based on recently achieved auction results for similar artworks, I would estimate the current fair market to be $500 to 700, though retail and asking prices may vary.
If you have any questions about my valuation, please let me know in the comments section below. Thank you again for your submission and have a great day!
Kind regards,
Anne
Hello Silvia,
I did account for the name of the painting, but we typically only use auction results for our valuations because gallery asking prices often tend to be far above fair market value. This is why I also included the text "retail or asking prices may vary." At auction, I found that the biggest factor in determining the value of his work was actually the size and dimensions of his artwork. The larger, vertically-oriented pieces tend to go for a bit more. If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask!
Kind regards,
Anne
The value of this artists paintings vary drastically based on the exact scene. This is Carribian Dream which is listed in several Galerys in HI and stateside at $5140. When you refer to other "similar items" to derive your value, did you account for the name of the painting?
