This table is round and will expand from sitting for 4 to 8. The leafs slide under the table when set up for 4. We have not seen this style before and believe it is rare.
Fully expanded is 5 foot 10 inches across the middle and 4 foot 10 inches when collapsed to seating for 4.
Hi Gary,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Circular tables in the Regency period (early 19th Century) used to use these segmented leaves to expand and predated the insertable rectangular leaves we now consider typical and which give the table owner a bit more flexibility in how large to grow the table.
Dyrlund is one of the better-known names in mid- to late-20th-century Danish furniture, especially valued today in the secondary market. The company was founded in Denmark in the 1960s. They built a reputation for high-quality cabinetmaking rather than avant-garde design. The firm is often associated with the broader movement of Danish Modern but stood out for excellent joinery, the frequent use of teak in either solid or veneers, and smooth, hand-finished surfaces...all in a consistently strong build quality.
Other Dyrlund tables and chair sets that have come to auction have sold for (fair-market or secondary market) prices ranging from $3,000-5,000 but because this is a rarer model, the fair-market/secondary market value would be $4,000-6,000; note that antique and vintage furniture dealers will be asking higher retail prices.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage Scandinavian midcentury modern expanding circular table and 8 chairs
unattributed maker, comprising:
a circular table with sectioned inserts, four side chairs, four armchairs.
(Height:); smallest diameter: 4 feet 10 inches; greatest diameter: 5 feet 10 inches
CONDITION: This table appears to be in good condition
PROVENANCE: Inherited
$ 4,000-6,000*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, or questions/concerns, and thank you again for using Mearto.

I have uploaded the 3 images from under the table.
Thank you
Good morning, Gary,
Apologies for the belated response - I had a family emergency.
Dyrlund is a good name and this is a rare (but not singular) model, that would probably sell at auction for between $4,000 and $6,000.
I've updated the appraisal accordingly but let me know if you have questions, etc.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Delia
I have found a stamp and name under the table. I will send the pictures when I receive them. One sticker says Dyrlund and the other is stamped into the wood and reads:
PAT PEND
PAT ANGEMELDET
Made in Denmark.
I also found this table in Kashew and it said one of a kind and sold for 6,500 without the chairs.
Please advise
