Generally an antique Gunter's Scale would measure about 2' long. This is a 19th century 6" plotting scale that is made from boxwood. It does not appear to have a maker's mark in the images. Gunter scales are the predecessor to slide rules. A plotting scale is used for land survey measures and map making. The estimate is based on actual past recorded auction sales.
