The Gorham Manufacturing Company introduced the Melrose sterling silver flatware pattern in 1948. It features a classic, floral design that became quite popular in mid-20th century American households.
Melrose-pattern flatware sets are not particularly rare - at the moment, there are half a dozen listed for sale at various auction houses throughout the country - and when they sell, they typically bring prices ranging from $20-30 PER PIECE.
