Albert Francis King. Pencil drawings on back of painting. Painting is solid, minor surface damage. 20” x 16” on canvas board. Looks like the A, in the signature may have had something rub off some of the A. You can see what looks like a not intended curved line affected the A. You can clearly see the outline of the A. I would believe the sketches on the back would be easy to recognize his work.

The signature on this painting, while partly eroded, matches those on other works by King. His trompe l'oeil still life oil on canvas pictures remain most coveted among collectors and can command high prices at auction; his pictures done in watercolor bring quite modest sums at auction, typically less than $500 and sometimes less than $100. The drawings on the back may/not be by him; they are a bit atypical of his portraiture being more cartoonish.
