This is a beautiful very stylized table lamp. The bronze has been hammered. The base is rather detailed with a material that is reflected in the base. There could be copper under the bronze. It has a copper tinge.
The lamp is 35 inches tall and 7.5 inches deep and wide.

The proportions on this seem a bit off to me; I wouldn't be surprised if this were a unique example by an individual artisan combining unusual elements such as the round ball / ostrich egg and that square faux marble or stone foot with the copper body. The only lamps I've found at auction that come even distantly close have all sold between $400-600.
OK. Thank you Delia.
Rhonda,
I've no idea how close you are to the wildfires but the stories on the news - and from friends/family I have there - it sounds beyond dreadful.
I hope you and your family are safe!

Hello Delia:
There is something terrifying about hearing accounts of people who gauged the situation incorrectly and lost their lives or left family members behind who refused to leave. I am to the south of LAX, but the poor air quality has spread, and at 3 a.m., yesterday morning, we got notifications on our phones to evacuate. We did not see or hear anything, so we did not leave. That is the third false alarm. Unnerving. There are 100,000 people whose homes have burnt down. I hope your family here is secure. Thank you for writing. :)
Thank you so much Delia. My phone went off around 3 a.m., telling us to evacuate--that was the third time it has happened in error. But I am a ways off from the fire as I am south of LAX. But no matter where you are, the air quality must be killing us all slowly. But 12,000 homes burned down is just hard to comprehend. I hope your family is doing okay with this. Right now, I heard 50 applications are filed for almost any rental.
Dear Rhonda,
I'm thankful you and your family are OK and for letting me konw; those of us outside the area truly can't comprehend how awful this is! All of my family are safe but friends and colleagues are certainly affected, including ones who have lost homes. As far as I know, I don't know any of those killed 🤞 Please stay safe!

Hi Delia!
Happy New Year.
You are not missing anything at al. It's me, off to an uncertain start for 2025. I believed those balls were generally called ostrich eggs, the round ball under the lamp socket that has a little label that says Philippines. I was influenced by this pair of Stiffel lamps you appraised a year or so ago...

I imagined that the lamp was a vintage Maitland Smith piece and the little gold label on the faux egg was the tipoff to Maitland since so many of their products are produced in the Philippines. Wrong thinking? I know. Eggs are not round.
