Hi Jesus,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

"Givin' Up' comes from the era of Aaliyah’s debut album Age Ain't Nothing but a Number (1994). At that time she was a teenage singer working largely within the new jack swing and early-1990s R&B style that dominated radio.

“Givin’ Up” was not one of the defining singles from that period. The songs that shaped her early success were tracks like Back & Forth and At Your Best (You Are Love). Because of this, “Givin’ Up” is generally considered a minor track or deep cut rather than a central part of her catalog.

Even though it’s lesser-known, the song reflects several elements of her early style, with smooth, restrained vocal delivery rather than powerful belting and contemporary R&B groove typical of the mid-1990s. Lyrics centered on relationship frustration and emotional independence.

For dedicated listeners and collectors, songs like “Givin’ Up” are interesting because they show how Aaliyah’s style evolved. Within a couple of years she moved toward the far more innovative sound heard on One in a Million (1996), created with producers Timbaland and Missy Elliott.

Since these reels are all separate tracks for one song, the group will be equivalent in price to other reels with more content: $1,500-2,500.
