Hi Leah,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The value in antique toys is significantly dependent on condition; with like-new or gently-used toys bringing a premium over toys that either saw considerable use and wear or have rusted extensively over time. Unfortunately, yours has lost a significant amount of its original paint and has quite a bit of rust, both of which will suppress its value on the auction market.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A Pratt & Letchworth painted cast iron double surrey
Buffalo, New York, circa 1880s
open two seat surrey with yellow spoke wheels, drawn by brown horse with seated driver wearing a top hat.
7 inches tall, 15 1/4 inches long, 4 inches wide
CONDITION: extensive rusting and paint loss
PROVENANCE: inherited from uncle
$400-600*
