Affandi Self Portrait
It is a self portrait of Affandi , the Indonesian artist, in oil on canvas. Its completed in 1975 and look abit old but with bold colors, brushstrokes and done in abstract form.The painting measures 90 cm x 75 cm.
The painting was owned by a collector in Bandung Indonesia since 1970s and was put on sale late last year through a dealer artist Herru Prayogo , I acquired it and the painting is now in Kuala Lumpur.

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This portrait is very much in the style of Affandi and bearing his monogram and date (19) 75. What strikes me odd, ist that the back looks much younger than the front and the canvas has not turned brown from the excessive linseed oil. As you will know, there are quite a few not authentic paintings on the market and the experts seem to have different opinions. I assume you would have to take the painting to the Affandi Museum to have it authenticated, but first you would have to establish a waterproof provenance, going all the way from the artist directly to you. If so, congratulations!
