What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a second half 20th century male ancestor statue of the Fang people. For the Fang people of Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and South Cameroon the religious practice known as byeri (worshipping ancestors) is very important. The value of an african statue very much depends on the provenance. Most "african tribal art" is made for Tourists and has been since the mid 20th century. Any proof (e.g. Photos) that the statue was found earlier would enhance the value considerably.
