Paintings have been in my family for over 50 years. The paintings where shipped from Vietnam during my great great grandfathers US Armed Forces tour there. It was never said of how he acquired the paintings himself.

The presented object appears to be a pair of paintings made in oil or acrylic paint on canvas with the measurements of 2.4 x 1.8 feet. The paintings depict an African woman and a man in traditional costumes of the Massai in profile. This painting is signed with the name Cheng which indicates that this painting was made in China or Vietnam in the second half of the 20th century. In these two countries, a highly specialized industry exists which produce numerous Western-style painting for export.
Works by this artist were recently not offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 100 to 250 USD.
