This humorous oil painting appears to be by the Danish artist called Albert Bertelsen (1921-2019).This painting depicts an imposing black cat, and is signed on the front with the artist's monogram. It is also signed, titled and dated "1979" on the reverse of the work. Sight 125 (h) x 105 cm (w). It is housed in a simple modern wooden frame. Sadly, some scratches are visible on the lower left of the work.

As you may know, Bertelsen's work is widely represented in museums and institutions primarily in Denmark, but also in Norway.

His paintings are mainly offered in Europe and especially in Denmark. The estimation highlighted in red above is based on comparables offered and sold at auction in the last five years.
