Alexander calder
12”x9”
Dear Yassine,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be an acrylic (?) on paper painting of a bird. The drawing measures approximately 12 x 9 in. and has been attributed to the American artist, Alexander Calder (1898-1976) due to the presence of the signature at the bottom right of the composition. This piece is in good condition and no severe damage is visible in the images provided.
Unfortunately, neither the style, the quality of the composition nor the handwriting are comparable to authenticated artworks by Alexander Calder. Consider the following comparables:

Therefore, the unfortunate conclusion from this investigation is that the work of art presented is most likely a forgery, which holds no market value.
