I believe it to be an Amber and ornate Silver necklace, bought in the Middle East. It was a gift to me over 30 years ago from a family member who travelled and worked in the Middle East, mainly UAE and Yemen. It is strung on cotton thread. It has been stored out of sunlight in a wooden box and rarely worn. It appears to be in good condition, though the silver balls are tarnished. The balls are 7/8” and there are 8 Amber balls and 7 silver balls
Total length 23”
An Amber & Silver Bead Necklace, 20th Century, probably Middle Eastern
composed of 8 cloudy yellow beads measuring 7/8” and 7 silver filigree beads, measuring 23" overall in length.
Thank you very much for your appraisal.
I have since found out a bit more about the necklace. It was bought in the city of Taiz, Yemen in an area where there were a lot of Jewish silversmiths.
I would like to consider selling this with you, and would be happy for it to be put into an auction, with a reserve price of $200. Can you advise me how to do this please?
Thank you
