The only thing I know of this sword’s history is that it was owned by my grandfather

The presented object appears to be a Nepalese Kukri knife. This typical and emblematic Nepalese weapon was used by the Gurkha troops who fought for the British Empire. This piece was made in the 20th century.
This piece is in medium condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
