While I do not believe they were painted by Hummel herself, both these angels (approximately 5 inches tall) have the TMK 1 mark, and initials (I think) of the painter. They are highly glazed porcelain naked angels, one beating a drum and the other an accordion. no cracks or chipping but there is some crazing.
unknown (I think a doll collector since most everything at the auction was specific doll related)
Hi Adrienne,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. Is it possible for you to take and upload a photo that shows the entire undersides of both pieces? I don't see the artist's signature so that would be helpful too.
Thanks!
Delia
Thanks!
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
Two early Hummel porcelain musical cherub figurines
Depicting one playing the accordion, the other beating a drum
Each with the "Wide Crown" mark (TMK1), in use from 1935-1950
Each approximately 5 inches high
The drummer impressed AF2 with painter's monogram; the accordion player impressed AF3 with painter's monogram HB
$50-75 each or $100-150 for the pair*

The round one is a little harder to see the trademark, due to its reflection of light.. I can make out the top part and a bit of the w.. but pictures were uploaded, Thank you
