A charming brass lamp made with great craftsmanship and care.
Base: 7"x7"x5.5 Lampshade: Perimeter is 7" Height: 18"
Hi Janis,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
I've found a few of this model online; one is noted to have been possibly made in Birmingham, NY; with the other lamps, no maker is attributed or region of manufacture suggested. The style of the shade is similar to ones made by Pittsburgh Lamp, Brass & Glass Co., though Handel also made those shades. The base is quite unusual - it brings to mind the Eiffel Tower with those prominent splayed feet.
Regardless, it's not a model that was made in great numbers. If neither the shade or base or marked, it's safe to call this a vintage Art Deco brass student's lamp, possibly by Pittsburgh Lamp Brass & Glass Co. It would likely sell for less than what student lamps by known makers typically bring at auction, probably in the $150-300 range.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique Art Deco brass student's lamp
unattributed maker, manner of Pittsburgh Lamp Brass & Glass Co, circa 1920s-30s
With octagonal pierced metal overlaid shade on a boldly cast four-footed pyramidal base.
Overall height: 18 inches
CONDITION: This appears to be in good condition
PROVENANCE: Inherited
$150-300*

Good Morning,
I would like to apologize for not sending an image with the whole lamp. That was kind of ridiculous mistake on my part. Thanks for doing this and let me know if this photo is sufficient.
