Dear Wilma,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please upload a few better images of the entire brooch - they are unclear the ones that you have uploaded. And also are there any marks of any kind on the brooch?
Thanks
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful golden brooch. Such vintage jewellery are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The brooch appears to be made of gold, however I cannot see the mark clearly enough to be certain therefore my appraisal will be conditional assuming the brooch is made of 14 carat gold. This particular type of flower brooch was typical of the mid to late 1900s. It is very charming little brooch but not the type of brooch that is preferred by buyers today. This is reflected in the appraisal. The appraisal may be even higher depending on how much the brooch weighs if it is made of gold.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online jewellery auction, where I believe the gold brooch has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the charming gold brooch. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
There is an inscription on the stem but too small for me to identify.
