Dear Julie,
You have a nice, simple made Jizai Kagi with a cast Iron teapot or Tetsubin in Japan. These kettles were used in Japanese tea ceremony. I believe yours is made in early 20th century. Jizai Kagi is mainly used in the country in small villages in Japan. In City's these were not much used. Its a traditional way of warming tea of food on open fire. Antique cast Iron Japanese pots are sought after as well as a complete Jizai Kagi. Some have a makers mark and that can add to the value. I figure your pot is not marked but thats not a big issue. My estimation is made on prices made in auction houses for Jizai Kagi with the same quality and age.
Dear Julie,
Thanks for your reply !
I try to decipher the mark but its not very clear. Did some research on the size to find similar but I was not successful. I do not expect a famous makers mark here that will add to the value. The Tetsubin gives no cause to think that.

Is this for sale?
Thank you for your appraisal. I did find a makers mark and have attached a picture.
