Antique Lamp
Family Heir Inheritance (over 100 years old)
Good morning, Patricia,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry and for providing me with additional details.
The figure appears Southeast Asian. The size and weight might be a deterrent to potential buyers if you opt to sell this at auction but I think it would generate interest at the value I've appraised it at, which is a fair-market value for auction purposes. Retail or asking prices may vary.
Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A Southeast Asian Carved and Enameled Wood Deity
possibly 19th Century
now fitted as a lamp
height 48 inches
PROVENANCE: inherited from family
$400-600
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you for using Mearto.
Hi there. It’s 4 ft and very heavy! Looks like wood covered with ivory or porcelain. It is an heir loom over 100 years old. We are Cherokee Indian. I’m just trying to find out more about it.
