Hi John,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The market for 19th Century lamps later fitted with electrical cords has fallen in recent years and it is not uncommon for unsigned/unattributed models to bring very modest sums when sold at auction, usually less than $100. Your lamp benefits in value from having two arms and hurricane shades, as well as the suspended pagoda-form smoke shades.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique double brass and glass student table lamp
American, late 19th Century
Centering a cylindrical brass fuel tank raised on a turned wood support on circular brass foot, issuing two candlearms supporting white milk glass hurricane shades with clear glass inserts, each beneath supported smoke shades. Presumably unmarked. Electrified.
27 inches high, 22 inches wide, 10 inches deep
CONDITION: This lamp appears to be in good condition.
PROVENANCE: Acquired at auction
$150-250*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, or questions/concerns, and thank you again for using Mearto.
