I think it is over a 120 years old. it is made out of cherry or oak wood. I think black forest possibly. dimensions are 40 in x 23 in.
i bought it from an older lady who has had it in her family for over a hundred years.
This is a late 19th century, circa 1890, Victorian era hand carved wooden mirror frame with bust of boy at top center, bird figurals and scrolling acanthus. The mirror frame is carved in the manner of the wooden works that come from the Black Forest in Germany/Switzerland/Austria. The majority of Black Forest carvings are done from pine and this does not appear to be cherry nor oak in the images. The estimate is based on actual past auction sales of comparables.
