Not sure of the year but I have pictures of the register so you can determine the year etc. Only registers up to $9.99.
My parents acquired it many years ago and I inherited it
Dear Pete,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a National Cash register. The National Cash Register Company was founded in 1879 and is still a well known IT company and now operating under the name of NCR Cooperation. Because of this long history and the ecological success in the first half of the 20th century are still many cash register on the market. This piece has the serial number 1.658.274 dates this piece into the years 1917 and 1918. in comparison to the pieces which were produced earlier the WWI period, this piece is not very decorated. It appears to be damaged because the mechanism just registers up to $9.99.
An estimation would be between 200 to 400 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
