Winchester Model 1892 Wood and steel!
Unknown
Dear Joseph,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry, and I apologize for the delay. I believe this is a rare take-down model. So that I may best assist you, can you please upload a few more images of the end of the barrel and magazine tube, and the top of the receiver and barrel?
Thanks,
Bo
Hello,
This Winchester 1892 Takedown Model was manufactured in the year 1900, making it 122 years old! It is in its original configuration, and has been fitted with a Lyman tang sight. The rifle is in fair condition, with some significant pitting on the receiver, and some active rust throughout. The wood is in good shape, and has some wear and handling marks consistent with its age. The Winchester takedown models are quite a bit rarer than the standard models, which adds to this piece's value. Based on completed auctions of similar items, a fair market value for this piece is 2,300-2,500 dollars. Please reach out with any questions.
