Good overall condition. We cannot find the details of who made this. It is an older piece and the top needs to be touched up.

Hi Hilary,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
While some Victorian cabinetmakers labeled their pieces, these often fell off or were removed but I've run this against a subscription database of labeled pieces and am not finding a sufficient match upon which to base an attribution.
You mention this is inlaid but I don't see that in these photos - typically, Victorian furniture was likely to be veneered rather than inlaid, and I see carving on the legs.
The market for these tables is very soft right now and ones with marble tops - which are more desirable but which yours doesn't have - usually bring prices ranging from $200 to $500 depending on condition. Without a marble top, this would be unlikely to sell for more than $100-150 unless there was some family provenance that increased interest and demand.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique Victorian carved walnut oval center table
American or English, mid 19th Century
The oval top with molded edges raised on four ring- and reel-turned supports over a carved down-curving four-leg base. Presumably unlabeled.
Height: 27 inches; width: 31 inches; depth: 22-1/4 inches
CONDITION: With wear commensurate to age and use.
PROVENANCE: Inherited
$100-150*
