Hi - I was given this burl or maple veneer table and chairs by a friend when she moved. Though I don't' personally find it attractive, I decided to research it before I took it to Goodwill. My research led me to Harry and Lou Epstein in the 1930s. The table has some chipped veneer and the poor chairs are in desperate need of re-upholstering. Yet, the structural condition is good for all pieces. There are no markings or identification on any of the pieces. The dimensions are: Table: 60"L x 33"H x 30-1/2"H Chairs: 33-1/2"H x 17-1/2"W. The seat is 17"H Just fyi, here are a couple of "listings" which show similar sets to mine: https://interiorboutiques.com/product/harry-and-lou-epstein-art-deco-dining-room-table-and-six-chairs/ https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/tables/dining-room-sets/1930s-art-deco-birds-eye-maple-dining-table-six-chairs/id-f_12310393/
I don't know. My friend was a collector of art deco furniture.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be an Art Deco Dining Table and bird´s eye maple veneer dining chairs, attributed to Harry and Lou Epstein Co. The veneer is rather thick which would date the set to the 1930s and not to the 1990s when art deco reproductions were made. A little restoraration will be necessary but overall the condition appears to be very good. The estimate is based on similar sets offered or sold at auction. Prices in the trade are usually higher and can vary.
