52.1 x 39.5 cm it’s a print no 11 on canvas
Ballarat Fine Art Gallery Ballerat Victoria
This is a vintage 20th century printed and framed reproduction print of an 1890 painting by Australian artist and member of the Heidelberg School, Sir Arthur Ernest Streeton (1867-1943). The original of this work is in the National Gallery of Victoria. Though this appears to be on canvas, it is rather unusual for works on canvas to be placed under glass. It is likely a photogravure print image that has also picked up the canvas texture from the original painting. These are intended more for decorative wall art purposes than as fine art for investment purposes. The print image is signed 'in plate' meaning it is part of the print and not signed by hand. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
Only signed on the plate.
Kind regards. Adrian.
Is this print signed by hand or only in the plate? Please add clear, in-focus images of the signature and the surface to show the texture as well as a view of the backside (do not removed from frame).
