6 panels of 16-inch equal width. Height 6 feet. Inlays appear to be handpainted. Back has embellishment, too, but less ornate.
Father, now deceased, purchased at auction house at least 20 years ago. Unsure of purchase price or any other information.
Dear Susan,
Your room divider has been made in China around 1970. It id lacquered wood with hand painted decoration of cranes, peonies and trees. The room divider looks in very good condition. Antique room dividers can be very expensive but yours still need to age some to really make a good price. There is some demand in the market for these sort of decorative objects to decorate the house and give it a asian look. I believe if this room divider came in auction it should fetch a price around the estimate.
