12" circumference Porcelain
No known history. Lady we bought it from said she purchased it at an estate sale more than 10 years ago.
Hello Rennie,
I’m glad that you chose Mearto for your appraisal. Please accept our apologies for the delay!
Considering the photographs, overall pattern, painting quality and the mark,
I concluded that this is a “Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi” marked blue and white porcelain plate from
probably 1970’s, the name of the mark translates as "Great Qing Qianlong Period Make".
This mark was used originally in 18th century, between 1736-1795. But copied heavily throughout
20th century, your piece’s painting quality and shape of the porcelain body indicates that it was
made in the third quarter of 20th century, which probably refers to 70’s. The back of the plate also
proves this idea of mine by showing no sign of old age or use.
Diameter: 12 Inches (30,68 Centimeters)
Condition: Excellent condition without any visible chips or cracks
Provenance: Purchased from a seller who bought the piece earlier from an estate sale 10 years prior.
Entirely hand painted. Piece’s decoration is heavily dominated by dragon motifs. The center of the
plate is decorated with a single dragon surrounded by floral motifs.
120-200$
