What does this mean?

Hi David,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
According to the PSA website, graded examples of this card range in value from $1,100 for a VG-EX4 to $95,000 for a MT-9 example; nearly 200 recorded examples are known to be graded VG-EX4 or lower but less than 60 have a grade of EX5 or higher.
We can't grade from photos and you can determine better than I can from the photos what its condition really is but this may be an instance where it might be worth the time and cost to have it graded if you want to sell it for what it's truly worth.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

An antique Christy Mathewson White Cap 1909-1911 Piedmont Tobacco card
T-206, 150 Series

Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, or questions/concerns, and thank you again for using Mearto.

Thanks. How do I go about having the card graded.

David bedingfield Oct 08, 03:41 UTC

I have a number of these cards. I may send in a few more for you to look over. I am unsure if grading all would be cost effective.

Beckett and PSA are the most well-known ones. I don't know the procedure or cost and you may be right that it isn't cost effective to have them graded but if you decide to get any card graded you should be charged a flat fee per card, it shouldnt' depend on the grade.
I'm always happy to look and give a range for ungraded cards.

Thanks
I will look into having one or more cards graded. Am I able to sell on your site or must I now sell on the other? Thinking of selling the woodcut prints I have had appraised on your site.

You should be able to sell this on Catawiki if you use this link: https://prf.hn/click/camref:1101lHtv3/pubref:delia
