1.25" wide blade, 33" long steel straight blade. Sword is steel and brass
This was part of my fathers antique sword collection purchased in the UK
Dear Fenella,
Thank you for the additional images and my sincere apologies for the delay with the apprisal.
The presented object appears to be a sword measurements 33" length. It has a brass basket with a leather grip and a brass basket. Sadly this piece has no hallmarks or proof to localize the maker. It was probably made in Great Britain in the 17th or first half of the 18th century.
This piece is in medium condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 300 to 600 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
