The NBA MVP Award is widely regarded as the league's most prestigious individual honor. Winning an MVP cements a player's place among basketball's all-time greats, and MVP trophies are among the most desirable pieces of basketball memorabilia.

The NBA has presented the MVP award every season since 1955–56 to the player judged to have had the best regular season. It recognizes regular-season performance only—not the playoffs or NBA Finals (The NBA also awards the Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award, which honors the best performer during the championship series; many legendary players have won one award but not the other, making each a distinct achievement.)

From 1955–56 through 1979–80, NBA players voted for the MVP (without voting for themselves or teammates). Since the 1980–81 season, the award has been decided by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters, with fan voting contributing a small portion since 2010.

Beginning with the 2022–23 season, the winner receives the Michael Jordan Trophy, replacing the earlier Maurice Podoloff Trophy. The redesign honors one of the game's greatest five-time MVPs.

Julius Randle is an NBA power forward who starred at the University of Kentucky before being selected 7th overall in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. He later became a multiple-time NBA All-Star and has been one of the league's most productive forwards. Jabari Parker was one of the most highly touted high school prospects in the country and played one season at Duke University. He was selected 2nd overall in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. Although considered a future superstar, his NBA career was significantly affected by two ACL injuries early in his career.

Jabari Parker and Julius Randle were not co-winners of the NBA Most Valuable Player Award.

What they did share was the co-MVP award at the 2013 Jordan Brand Classic, one of the nation's premier high school all-star basketball games. Parker scored 16 points and 7 rebounds, while Randle had 19 points and 7 rebounds, and both were named co-MVPs of the game.

I could not find any documented sale of an original Jordan Brand Classic MVP trophy through a major sports memorabilia auction house (such as Heritage, Goldin, SCP, Lelands, Grey Flannel, or Sotheby's). This is probably because the award is comparatively new, and, as a career trophy, most athletes would keep them within their families or donate them to schools or museums.

Because there are directly comparable auction sales, valuation is necessarily speculative but if this were offered in a major sporting auction, and authenticated by a disinterested third party, this would likely bring mid-four to low five figures at auction. If there were at least two determined bidders, that price could go for much more.
