Sketch by Myron Waldman, American animator. It was given to Vlado and Renata BELICA, my brothers godparents who were professional framers out in Long Island, NY. They did a lot of work for him and so he gifted it to them. Also framed by them. It looks like it was done in pencil.

Hi Christina,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Betty Boop was created by Max Fleischer, an American animator and film producer, along with his Fleischer Studios team. She first appeared in 1930 in the cartoon "Dizzy Dishes", part of the Talkartoon series.
While Max Fleischer and his studio created Betty Boop, Myron Waldman was one of the key animators at Fleischer Studios who helped bring her to life. He worked on many Betty Boop cartoons throughout the 1930s and was known for his skillful animation that gave her her distinctive charm and personality.
Waldman’s animation helped define Betty’s movements, expressions, and playful style, making her one of the most memorable and beloved characters of the era. So while he didn’t create her, he was definitely a major contributor to her success and legacy as an animator behind the scenes.
Other drawings of Betty Boop by Waldman that have come to auction have sold in a fairly broad range of values, depending on the size of the drawing, complexity of the composition and condition. Ones comparable to this one have sold in the range of $125-175.

Hi Christina,
I'll do the other Waldman sketches individually.
Please let me know if the 17-1/2 by 15-1/2 dimension is of the mat or of the image.
Thanks,
Delia

Hi Delia. I have 3 sketches from Waldman. I’m not sure if it’s worth more as a collection.
