Solid Wood 83 in in hgt 33 in in width
I bought in Germany in 1985
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal and the additional photos. This appears to be a german grandfather clock of the 1980s, produced in the black forest region, the clockwork most likely by Hermle combined with a ornately decorated clockcase of solid wood, in an eclectic style mix of Danzig Baroque and Louis Seize. The distributor or seller of this clock unfortunately has left no trace of his existence. Very few other clocks by "Menziger Stil-Uhren" were offered in the recent past. The estimate is based on recent auction results for similar reproduction grandfather clocks offered or sold at auction. The original retail price must have been several thousand USD in the 1980s, but unfortunately the times and tastes have changed and there is a larger supply than demand situation today.
