Black opal and multi color sapphires ring
Size 8 ring. Black opal in center. Multi color sapphires surrounding Black opal in what looks to be a flower design. Black opal does has flashes of colors, mostly of a fire red. 925 engraved.

It is a lovely ring. The ring is what you would call cocktail jewellery. The ring is very big which is typical of cocktail jewellery. Based on the photos the ring is made of sterling silver, however I cannot determine the stones. Stones used in sterling silver jewellery are often semi precious stones with a lower value that eg. diamonds, sapphires, rubies and emeralds. The style of the ring indicates that it was made in the 1970s-1980s when this type of material and fashion/style was most used. The condition of the ring appears to be fairly good.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online jewellery auction, where I believe the ring has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the ring. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
