Ornate English desk or table. 1880-90 era. Carved pinapple decore with scroll work. Swivel top that opens into a green velvet writing table. Drawer in center of table. Ornate legs. I have pictuures but don''t kow how to add them.

A good friend lived in England for several years and brought the dsk back when he returned to the USA. He gave the desk to me as a wedding present in 1980.

Probably English, late 19th/early 20th Century
The drawleaf top enclosing expanding leaves, raised on a deeply carved frame fitted with a single long drawer, raised on bulbous turned and carved legs joined by a shelf stretcher and terminating in large stylized paw feet.
31 inches high, 53 inches wide collapsed, 106 inches wide when extended, 37 1/2 inches deep
CONDITION: condition appears to be generally good with some lifting to top. Other wear from normal age and use expected
PROVENANCE: gift from a friend in 1980

Much to our surprise, the writing desk is actually a pull-out tablle. We haven't moved the table since we moved here 17 yearrs ago. So, the table collapsed is 53" wide and 37.5" deep.
