Bolt action device found in a stream
It’s heavy, the bolt action handle will not hold a magnet but the rest of the device does. It appears as though the handle may have been drilled and tapped and there may be a set screw? Could also just be a blemish? The pin that pushes the ammo in to firing position is magnetic. This was found in very shallow fresh water creek.

The presented object appears to be the bolt action device made out of cast metal with the rest of a wooden part. It is questionable if this piece was a part of a rifle or small-caliber cannon. The metal itself appears not to be steel or iron which has to be the consistency to resist the explosion of a shot. It is possible this is a part of an agricultural machine or something similar. Even if this would be a part of a rifle or small-caliber cannon it would not be interesting for a collector or potential buyer.
