Holmidae trilobite example
Cambrian and early Ordovician Period (500 million years ago) to Permian Period (252 million years ago)
Maghreb region of North Africa, Morocco
From images, it is believed to be the exoskeleton of the Holmidae trilobite, possible Andalusiana trilobite. The fossil example is the relief or impression of the animal as well as the true fossil. A unique find and as a pair, it increases the value that it is a set. The word Trilobite means "three lobes" and the positive imprint specimen in this limestone matrix is a great representation of the animal's form. The matrix has been cut in an oval shape and removed from the surface to clearly showcase the Left & Right Pleural Lobes and the middle Axial Lobes of the animal. A stand could be fabricated to present the fossil upright for a beautiful natural and historic conversation piece in a home or office.
Each example measures: 30cm x 22cm x 5cm, unknown weight.
